Li Jiao felt that although they hadn’t done excellent, the instructor was too fierce. He put down their enthusiasm.

She slurred her mouth in the hope that she would never make a mistake in the future. Otherwise, the instructor might “kill” her.

Zhang Jiuling: “Twenty additional minutes of training for all!” “

“!!!”

After the instructor said this, no one dared to mourn, and could only use their big eyes to show panic.

What a devil, what a devil!

Thirty minutes plus twenty minutes. Fifty minutes!

“Everyone stand up, don’t move!”

“If you move, one minute will be added!”

Now, no one really dared to do anything else.

One by one, with their chins and chests up, they did their best to control their body shape.

Can’t move, can’t move!

Li Jiao’s whole body was even tenser. From the top of her head to her toes, even her eyes seemed to be staring hard, just like the eyes of a goldfish.

Can’t move, can’t move!

If I move even a bit, then I’m dead!

As time passed by a minute by a minute, the entire military training field was extremely quiet, and the only sound occasionally heard were the instructors’ voices, correcting the postures of several individuals.

Thousands of freshmen didn’t move, as if they were cast a spell on.

Class 1, out of countless classes, was the most straight but also the most rigid.

Why?

Because they had a devil instructor. One glance from his cold eyes and the class wouldn’t even dare to breathe.

They were wrong, what sort of handsome instructor did they want?!

This instructor was handsome, but he was literally going to take their lives!

The sun above their heads quietly moved its position.

The scorching sun shined directly onto the top of their heads. Under the military training caps, sweat kept flowing down. It followed down the hairline, ears, and then the chin, forming drops of sweat.

September this year was hotter than usual. Just from standing in the army, several students had already fallen.

All the freshmen on the military training field seemed dizzy and almost unconscious. They were also feverish.

Just as they thought they were coming to the end of their lives, the chief instructor whistled and roared with the megaphone.

“Everyone, rest, for fifteen minutes!”

“Yeah!”

Everyone cheered immediately, but it was immediately followed by the roars of their own instructors.

“What are you guys yelling for, what are you guys yelling for?!”

“Did I let you move?!”

“Everyone stand still!”

“Ten more minutes will be added!”

“…”

Hearing the roars and wails, the people of Class 1 thought; fortunately, they hadn’t moved. Otherwise, they would’ve had to have ten minutes added too!

Furthermore, if their own devil instructor didn’t speak, then they would also be afraid to move.

Looking at the students who hadn’t moved at all, Zhang Jiuling, his tone still ice-cold, said:

“Ten more minutes. And then rest.”

Just like this, the people of Class 1 watched the others drink herbal tea and rest, while they stood for another ten minutes before they were finally allowed to rest.

“Now, everyone, take a ten-minute break.”

It was only then when they heard their instructor speak did the people dare to move.

One by one, they collapsed onto the ground like mud.

“Leave me alone, I’m useless now~”

“Oh my God, this is too hard~”

“Jesus, I’m so tired.”

“Oh my God, I’m so thirsty. Let’s go to drink water.”

“I’m going to the toilet, I can’t hold it in anymore!”

“…”

Around them, groups of two or three scattered around, some going to the toilet, some going to drink water, and some lying down on the ground …

Su Linlin and Zhang Yue came from the other side and handed a glass of water to Li Jiao.

“Jiaojiao, here.”

“Thank you.”

Li Jiao’s cheeks were as red as apples. She took the paper cup, drank a little, before raising her head to drink all of the water.

Just now her throat was almost parched. It was hot and dry.

Zhang Yue sat down with her hands fanning the wind, “The weather is too hot.”

“It’s only the first day, and I already feel like I’ve seen my miserable future life.”

Su Linlin held her face, crouched down, and said with bitter hatred.

“Our instructor is too fierce. Although very handsome, he’s not cute at all.”

Li Jiao tried to recall what the instructor looked like. She had not looked carefully, but she did remember that the instructor was a little bit dark?

A small group of girls next to them were also discussing the instructors. They were the ones who had been punished before.

“Hey, our instructor’s handsome, but he doesn’t show any compassion for girls.”

“Yeah, I almost laid down on the ground as soon as I finished the push-ups.”

“Being so fierce, he definitely doesn’t have a girlfriend.”

“Hahaha, you don’t know for sure. The instructor being that handsome, he must have a girlfriend.”

“Well, it’s possible. Hey, did you notice? His rank is Major, he’s a senior officer!”

“Really?”

“…”

Su Linlin’s gossipy ears pricked up and wanted to hear the news, and wanted to get together with them to talk about it too.

Another familiar whistle sounded, and the chief instructor announced the end of the break. It was time to continue training.

Everyone could only put down their glasses of water, unwilling to walk to the training grounds.

“Ten minutes passed that quickly?”

“It’s so hot, I’m going to get baked again.”

“I hadn’t even heard a few words yet, ” Su Linlin complained next to Li Jiao.

Li Jiao comforted her with a few words, talked with several people, and then returned to her original position.

As soon as they were positioned, the instructors came over.

The instructors had rested on the other side of the tents, so they had come over from the other side. The people of Class 1 had learned their lessons. As soon as their instructor came over, they stood in their postures and stopped talking.

Zhang Jiuling walked over, his black military boots stepping on the lawn, suppressing half an inch of the grass.

“The lesson from the morning was about standing at attention and standing at ease.”

“We’ve just stood in the posture, and now we’re learning how to stand at ease.”

As he spoke, he turned sideways, revealing his angled face, explaining and demonstrating.

“Based on standing to attention, your left foot would be extended out in the direction of the tip of your toes, about two-thirds of your whole foot. Your upper body should remain in your posture, legs naturally stretched, and the weight of your body should mostly be on your right foot.”

After explaining, Zhang Jiuling completed a demonstration again.

The body was taut, the movement was smooth, and the extension of the foot was fast and strong. One could see the strength of his leg muscles, which carried terrible power.

Someone whispered, infatuated:

“So handsome~”

Li Jiao disagreed, but she hadn’t looked at the instructor carefully before. Taking advantage of this opportunity, she looked a few more times. The instructor was, indeed, quite handsome.

Yes, but just a little dark.

What if he was whiter?

Li Jiao tried imagining but then shook her body. No, no, if he was too white, then he wouldn’t look like a proper soldier.

Whiteness would lead to more feminineness. Being dark was good since it made him look more masculine, youthful, and more like a soldier.

While Li Jiao was deep in her thoughts, Zhang Jiuling had already finished explaining.

“Now, you guys do it.”

“Everyone, at ease!”

It was only now that Li Jiao realized and moved.

Zhang Jiuling walked to the front of each person to correct their postures.

“Upper body needs to be straight.”

“Place your weight on your left foot.”

“Eyes, look at the front.”

Starting from the first row, he quickly reached Li Jiao’s row.

Seeing that the instructor was coming over, Li Jiao quickly readjusted her position, looking straight ahead and with her chest up.

Zhang Jiuling walked up to the front of her, stopped, glanced at her feet, and then looked up at her again without saying a word.

Why did the instructor stop in front of her?

Li Jiao didn’t even dare to breathe. What was happening? What did she do wrong? Her posture was correct, right?

Why wasn’t the instructor moving, why did he stop?

Li Jiao held her breath, staring at the space in front of her, not daring to look up at Zhang Jiuling.

Zhang Jiuling didn’t talk. He extended his foot and then tapped on the grass in front of Li Jiao.

He leaned in a little bit. Li Jiao smelled his scent again. It was cool and fragrant.

Zhang Jiuling had just come back from break, and he hadn’t worn his military cap. Li Jiao looked up a little bit and saw his ebony hair, pretty ears, and the outline of his side.

Once her brain relaxed, she started pondering again. The instructor was very handsome.

Seeing no movement, Zhang Jiuling tapped his feet again. He looked at the girl in front of him. Was she staring at him?

He wore a cold expression. He used his right foot in his military black boots to tap the ground again and spoke at the same time.

“You’re using the wrong foot.”

“Huh… huh?”

Only then did Li Jiao return to her senses. She looked down at her feet and then noticed that she had used her right foot instead of her left.

Hearing that, the others around her couldn’t help but laugh.

Li Jiao’s face was crimson as she quickly switched her foot, mumbling:

“It was my mistake. Sorry, instructor.”

Zhang Jiuling was about to move on, but her voice sounded familiar, so he stopped and looked at her again.

The “so dark” he had heard when he first came over was said by her?

Zhang Jiuling rarely gave anyone a second glance. Now, this was a pretty little girl, who was not very tall and had cheeks that were as red as apples.

After a short while, he lifted his foot and continued to the rows in the back.

She was short in height but quite bold.

Afterward, all Li Jiao heard was the familiar, cold voice of the instructor:

“Continue training.”

Now that he was finally gone, Li Jiao let out a sigh of relief and felt deeply embarrassed.

How shameful of her to use the wrong foot!

The instructor didn’t think that she was a fool who didn’t know which side was left and which was right, did he?

The training in the morning went by fast, and it was noon within a blink of an eye. Thousands of freshmen returned to the cafeteria to eat lunch.

And then, like wandering souls, headed back to the dormitories to rest for an hour.

Then, they were pulled back onto the military training fields to train.

The training for the afternoon was about stepping and turning in different directions.

“Everybody!”

“Turn to the left!”

“To the right!”

“To the back!”

“Stand at ease!”

“Everybody, to the right!”

“…”

This afternoon, everything was about turning. Everyone was dizzy.

Li Jiao felt the same. At the start, she was still able to figure out the directions, but after some time, she had also started turning randomly with everyone else.

Moreover, the instructor had kept calling on Li Jiao in the afternoon, possibly because she had made him think that she hadn’t known which direction was left and which was right.

“Last one in the first row, wrong direction.”

“To the right, last one in the first row.”

“The last one of the first row, listen carefully, turn to the back.”

“Last one of the first row, …”

The whole afternoon, Li Jiao kept being called on. Even though the instructor also called on others, he undoubtedly addressed her the most.

There was no way to avoid this. She stood in the first row, and her brain was dizzy. Doing a wrong move would be far too obvious.

And after today, Li Jiao felt like puking from all the turning.

She turned to the left immediately after hearing someone mention the word “left” in the cafeteria, knocking over a student’s lunch.

After she realized it, she apologized frantically and asked to buy another lunch for the student.

That student was also a freshman and understood why she had that reaction. He patted her hand and said it was okay.

It was only the first day of military training, and everyone was already going crazy.

After a whole day of training, the students returned to the classroom at night to choose the class committee members.

The completely broken air conditioner was like a decoration in the giant classroom.

Above their heads, five or six fans spun. The air from the fans was loud and humid.

If Li Jiao even moved a little bit, then she would feel extremely hot and continue sweating.

Someone, pulling the collar of their shirt, fanned themselves and hurried:

“Let’s choose quickly, I’m dying from the warmth.”

On the podium, the teacher chose a girl to temporarily organize the event. She said:

“We’ll start by choosing the class president, now. Any volunteers?”

Zhang Yue raised her hand first, and five or six girls followed.

The girl on the podium looked and said: “Let’s decide by voting.”

Everyone was new to this university and didn’t know each other well. Voting, to be honest, was simply judging by what one could see. If you looked amiable and pleasing to the eye, then the vote would be yours.

Zhang Yue’s popularity seemed to be quite good. It looked like she had more than a dozen votes, and compared to the two or three votes of the others, she won directly.

Later, in Li Jiao’s dormitory, Su Linlin volunteered to be the secretary, and Li Jiao herself was pushed to volunteer for the activity organizer.

No matter what, having a title would always certainly be somewhat useful.

Li Jiao looked charming and had two dimples when she smiled. Therefore, a lot of people favored her. If no accident happened, then she would win the role of activity organizer easily.
